About the artist

From childhood Ali has loved nature and being outdoors. Early creative projects included making a go-cart, a treehouse, a skateboard and all manner of other crafts! Her favourite hobbies include drawing, crochet, walking, cycling and enjoying God’s creation. Her faith has been an inspiration for her own artwork pieces and music compositions.

A training ground for the arts

Ali obtained a BA in Creative Arts at Bretton Hall College, West Yorkshire, a beautiful mansion set amongst trees and parkland and home of the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. The college setting was the perfect place to get inspiration for drawing and painting. She is now married with two children and has taught Art and Design Technology for over twenty years to students in Barnsley.

Projects galore!

As well as developing many successful art schemes and projects at school she has created many theatre props, backdrops and basic costumes for school performances. Her musical talents have included singing, leading choirs, and singing groups and writing her own compositions.

A great discovery!

Having mastered the basic pyrography techniques her confidence grew and she was able to utilise her drawing talents to create some wonderful art pieces. Friends and family have been a real encouragement to her and she now spends many enjoyable hours working from home on a variety of wildlife designs and commissioned artwork.
